Marketplace & Reviewer Terms
Version 1.0 · Effective 28 May 2026
These terms govern the Advisory Stack advisor marketplace (at /find-advisor), the reviewer panel that endorses platform strategies, and the consumer ↔ agent matching workflow. They apply alongside our general Terms and Privacy Policy. For legal questions: legal@advisorystack.com.au.
1. Marketplace listings
Listings on /find-advisor are restricted to firms whose registration we have verified against the TPB Public Register and who have agreed to handle the consumer's tax matters under a signed engagement. Firms must keep their TPB registration current; lapsed registrations result in immediate delisting until renewal is verified.
2. Reviews
Reviews must reflect a genuine engagement (an active client relationship or a completed consultation). Ratings of 1, 2 or 3 stars are auto-quarantined for 72 hours for moderation before publication. Reviewers found to be ineligible (no engagement) are banned; their existing reviews are removed. Firms may post one reply per review.
3. Lead claims & consumer consent
When an agent claims a consumer lead through the platform, the consumer must explicitly confirm the engagement via a magic-link email within 14 days. This complies with Australian Privacy Principle 11.2 (use and disclosure of personal information) and the explicit-consent requirements introduced under the Tax Agent Services Act amendments effective 2024 (TASA 2024). Unconfirmed claims expire and the lead is released.
4. Reviewer panel
Strategies and tax-content templates on the platform are endorsed by TPB-registered tax agents who serve as reviewers under a separate Reviewer Agreement. Reviewers are paid per endorsement and per audit; their name and TPB number appear on the strategies they sign off. See the reviewer panel for further detail.
5. Removal & takedown
Advisory Stack may hide listings or remove reviews where: a TPB sanction is in force, the firm has materially misrepresented their services, conduct issues are substantiated, or the review breaches our review guidelines (defamatory content, off-topic, third-party identification). Firms may appeal a removal in writing to legal@advisorystack.com.au within 14 days.
6. Complaints
Complaints about an agent on our marketplace are referred to the agent in the first instance, then to Advisory Stack if not resolved within 21 days, and finally to the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) where the complaint relates to a registered tax agent's professional conduct. The TPB's complaint process is at tpb.gov.au/complaints.
7. Changes
We may update these terms by publishing a revised version on this page. Material changes will be notified by email to active marketplace firms at least 14 days before they take effect.
